Privacy Policy

How Aurum handles your personal information.

Last updated: 17 July 2026

Aurum ("Aurum", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access, correct or query it.

Aurum is operated from Australia. This policy has been written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles, because it reflects how we intend to handle your information regardless of whether any small-business exemption applies.

The personal information we collect

We collect personal information relevant to responding to your enquiry and planning your celebration. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Contact details — name, email address, and WhatsApp or phone number.
  • Celebration details you provide — the kind of celebration you're planning, approximate guest count, approximate budget range, where you're planning from, your timeframe, and any other notes you choose to share, most commonly through our wedding assessment tool.
  • Cultural and religious details you volunteer — Indian weddings often involve ceremonies tied to specific religious or cultural traditions. If you share this kind of detail so we can plan accordingly, we treat it as sensitive information, use it only for planning and vendor coordination, and do not use it for any other purpose without your consent.
  • Communications — records of enquiries and correspondence with us, including via WhatsApp, Instagram, email, or consultation bookings, once those channels are configured.
  • Technical and usage information — collected automatically when you browse our website, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location at a country or city level. See "Cookies and online tracking" below.

How we collect personal information

Wherever practical, we collect personal information directly from you — for example, when you complete the wedding assessment form, request a consultation, or contact us directly.

Some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our website, but only once you have accepted cookies (see below).

If you begin the wedding assessment form, your draft answers may be stored temporarily in your own browser so you can move between steps without losing progress. This draft information is removed from your browser when the form is submitted.

We may occasionally receive your details from a venue, vendor, or family member who refers you to us, but only where it's reasonable to expect you'd anticipate that referral.

Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and assess what your celebration will require before we speak.
  • Plan, design, and coordinate your wedding or event, including liaising with venues and vendors on your behalf, with your direction.
  • Communicate with you about your celebration and our services.
  • Understand how visitors use our website and improve it, using analytics (only with cookie consent).
  • Showcase real, completed celebrations in our portfolio and marketing — but only with your explicit, separate consent for those specific photos or details. We do not publish placeholder, generated, or unapproved material as proof of client work.
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Cookies and online tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. A banner asks for your consent before any non-essential cookie runs, and your choice is stored in your browser. You can accept all non-essential cookies, reject them, or manage analytics and marketing cookies separately. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

If you accept analytics cookies, we may use Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC) to understand website traffic and usage. If you accept marketing cookies, we may use Meta Pixel (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure and improve the performance of any Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising we run. These tools may send information about your visit to servers located overseas, including in the United States, and are subject to Google's and Meta's own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

If you decline non-essential cookies, these tools do not run and no analytics or advertising data about your visit is collected by us through them.

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" or similar signals. Because there is no single accepted technical standard for these signals, our website does not currently respond to them automatically. Please use the cookie banner or "Cookie Preferences" link to control whether analytics and advertising tools run on this site.

Disclosure of personal information, including overseas

We don't sell personal information. We may disclose it to trusted third parties who help us run our business and deliver our services, including:

  • Venues and vendors involved in planning your specific celebration, with your knowledge and direction.
  • Service providers that help us operate the website and manage enquiries, bookings, communications, form submissions, scheduling, email, customer relationships, analytics, advertising, and messaging. These providers may store or process information in Australia, the United States, India, Europe, or other countries where they or their infrastructure operate.
  • Google and Meta, for analytics and advertising measurement as described above, where cookies have been accepted. Both are based in the United States and personal information sent to them is held on overseas servers.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and request that we correct it, by contacting us using the details in "Contact us" below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, ordinarily within 30 days, and won't charge you for making a request.

Additional rights for international visitors

If you are located outside Australia, including in India, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or a US state with privacy rights that apply to your interaction with us, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws.

Depending on where you are located and the law that applies, these rights may include asking us to access, correct, update, delete, or provide a copy of your personal information; withdraw consent where we rely on consent; object to or restrict certain processing; and complain to a local privacy regulator or data protection authority.

Where we transfer personal information overseas, we do so for the purposes described in this policy and take reasonable steps to use service providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and the services involved.

We do not make decisions about you using solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Storage and security

The website does not maintain a public account system or client portal. If you submit an enquiry or wedding assessment form, those details are sent to Aurum's enquiry workflow and may be stored in the tools we use to receive, review and respond to enquiries.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, and to keep it only for as long as it's needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, before securely deleting or de-identifying it.

Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, contact us first using the details below with as much detail as you can provide — we'll investigate and respond within a reasonable time.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
